I tested, and tried the DataGridView Extension, and it's really great.

I'm considering to buy the Gold Version, however i'm a bit astonished that here in the Forum, there are no active posters.

I'm also astonished that this great product isn't more popular (as of now), as of the little amount of Posts here in the last months.

Hope that you will gain more Users soon, and hope you have the time/energy to continue to develop.

The only negative thing i can say so far is ,that with a huge amount of Data, the Export to Excel is quiet slow, however this might be a problem of the way the data is transfered between the application and Excel itself, and might not be speed up by itself.

 As an alternative the inclusion of an Excel Exporter that works with the Excel XML would maybe speed up that process and would not need the Office/Excel .dll's nor an installed Excel on the machine.

Apart from that, i really like your approach, and everything looks very clean and well designed.

Hope to get some Feedback ,about the Future of this product from the developers.

Thank you for using DataGridView Extension and also for the good words!

DGVE is relatively young product and probably this is the reason why it is not so popular, but we can say that its users are growing slowly but surely every day. You know sometimes it is pretty difficult to make people adopt something new, it takes time and we have to prove it worths it!

At this moment, instead of writing code we actively listen and analyze the feedback from our users, most of it comes in e-mails (it seems people prefer to write an e-mail than post something in the forum). Big part of the complaints is related to the export to MS Excel, and the performance issue, as you have noticed.
The delay is a problem painfully known to us. We have tried all kinds of optimizations in order to improve the speed of the export to MS Excel but with arguable results. The truth is that we are entirely dependent on the PIAs performance. However you can increase the speed of the export by stopping the export of the visual styles like color, borders etc. You just have to uncheck the option ‘Export Visual Styles’ in the export dialog. You can also stop the export of the images if any.

We have plans to create what you suggest an exporter for the Xml file format of the Excel, thus we will be entirely independent from the PIAs which means higher speed and no requirements to have Office installed. We will check out the article you mentioned, thank you :)
